1990: Steve Bornstein Named President of ESPN
Steve Bornstein became the president of ESPN at a time when the network represented merely a single cable channel; Bornstein completely flipped the script, making it a suite of channels that included ESPN2 and ESPN News. Further, Bornstein expanded ESPN’s brand to radio and online and integrated it into culture by opening restaurants and starting a magazine.
The change in the business model changed what and how we were consuming.
